Review on Google Pixel series

After partnering with multiple phone makers over the years, Google has finally produced a smartphone which is made by Google through and through. Right from the software of the phone to the design, everything is done by Google. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 powered device is easily the best Android smartphone you can buy today. It offers a very familiar design and a superb 2K display. Google has also incorporated a brilliant camera on the phone which can easily stand against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and even the iPhone 7. If 5.5-inch is too large for you to handle, you can settle for the 5-inch Google Pixel.

Review

PERFORMANCE:-

With Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor 4GB of RAM the Pixel series is really quick and Android 7.1 is highly responsive. The apps and games load pretty fast and smoothly. The gaming experience is good with Pixel XL compared to Pixel.

However, If performance is your main concern then you can go for OnePlus 3T which uses the same processor and has 2GB more RAM that is 6GB of total Ram.

BATTERY LIFE:-

Both the devices have a good battery life (Pixel:2,770 mAh & Pixel XL:3,450 mAh). The battery can last a full day of normal use, and 2-2.5 days of light use. But when used as our main device, nightly charge is a must.

CAMERAS:-

The Pixel and Pixel XL both share the same snappers. The rear camera has a 12.3Mp sensor with 1.55um pixels an f/2 lens. It focuses using a combination of laser and phase detection, and has a dual-LED flash. Once again with Google phones, though, there’s no optical stabilisation, only EIS. However, it takes sharp, well-exposed photos with loads of detail. But in low light, you will end up with a proportion of blurry photos, especially if you’re trying to photograph humans or animals. But in general, low light performance is very good with virtually no noise or artefacts.

Videos. The stabilisation works well at 1080p. This is the same as the iPhone 7 offers, and many people will appreciate being able to shoot slo-mo at 1080p.

Around the front is another capable camera, this time with an 8Mp sensor. It will take decent selfies and shoot 1080p video.

STORAGE:-

Storage is either 32GB or 128GB, and it’s not expandable. The base £599 model has 32GB and – in line with Apple – you’ll pay £100 more for the 128GB version. It’s a shame there are no other storage options, such as 64GB.

But aside from the microSD slot there is one other missing feature: water-resistance. The Pixel has none, so it doesn’t tick a crucial box for many buyers. Samsung and Apple’s competing phones – the Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 – will survive an accidental drop in the sink (or even the occasional underwater photo), but the Pixel will not. And that is a shame.

The main attraction of the device is the GOOGLE ASSISTANT. and also the hardware of the device is by google itself.
